Veniard Mallard Drake Flank Feathers have beautifully subtle mottled markings and offer a range of sizes in the mixed 2 gram packs. These feathers are most commonly used in trout fly tying as well as a range of classic salmon fly patterns. The Veniard Mallard Drake Summer Duck Subs colour is a great alternative for natural wood duck mallard feathers.

These feathers are fairly versatile. They are commonly used for hackle collars on Spider flies and their long fibres for body hackles. The feathers are also used for Nymph legs, tails and wings and often for streamer patterns in Salmon and Trout flies. 2 gram packet of selected grey flank feathers from Mallard Duck used traditionally for spent mayfly wings and tails or back of small fish and fry imitation as Missionary and Appetiser fly patterns.

If you’re looking for feathers for tying Wally Wing fly patterns, these are what you need. They make excellent extended mayfly bodies and tails with absolutely now mass or weight to them. They also create lifelike antennae on caddis nymphs and dries. Plus, they can be incorporated into a range of classic Catskills style patterns as a wing replacment option.

Of course, if you want to create all sorts of natural looking streamer fly patterns, then our ever growing range of natural hairs and furs is the ideal place to start for something different to the synthetic option.
