Ozzy Native Flies Sickada Mini Double Hook

This is a new design to the double hook Sickada for 2023. The mini version is tied on a size #2 Ahrex PR378 hook, with a redesign carapace and body to ensure the fly sits right in the water, and still allows for connection with the fish. The two hooks are angles outwards to increase the chance of the hookset, and the smaller overall design means you’ll pick up more of those medium size cod and trout cod that often don’t result in a hook-up when they smash bigger poppers. It’s already landed fish this year (as I write this upon returning from the river on the 2nd of January) and it looks like it will be a staple on smaller waters over the summer months.

The Ozzy Native Flies Cicada pattern is a stout little popper fly that has proven to be very effective during summer when the big cicadas are in the trees and hitting the water. Fished with short, 15-20cm strips with a pause will cause it to pop. Much like the real thing when it lands on the water and starts flapping about in an attempt to move to the bank. It always pays to have a couple Ozzy Native Flies Cicada patterns in your fly box.
