Joe's Flies
Grouse Mudeye
Grouse Mudeye
Joe’s Grouse Mudeye is a really cool pattern that works in both lakes and streams. With dragonflies on the water just about every day, it makes sense to always have a few one hand whenever you’re fishing. Especially in Victoria’s western lakes. These have been adapted from Joe’s original Grouse Mudeye with a little extra weight so they can be fished in streams too. Yet, they’re not so heavy that they become untenable in stillwater. The combination of grouse feathers, deer hair and antron dubbing allow for a slow sink rate to keep the fly in the strike zone as long as possible.
Now sold as single units per hook size. Buy as few or as many as you like!
Of course, if you want to tie this pattern yourself, Troutlore offers all the quality materials for this pattern.
Joe’s Flies are tied by Joe Manzano, located in New South Wales. His patterns have been put to the test over the years and refined to work with the best materials available and to better perform in Australian conditions. This Grouse Mudeye pattern is tied on quality Firehole barbless hooks and using the best materials, this is a great addition to any fly box for all times of the the stream and lake season.
