The Carp Torch is a carp fly pattern designed by Rob Gee from Troutlore Fly Tying Store with the intention of offering a fly that can be fished through four distinct feeding patterns observed in carp behavior. This allows you to have one fly tied on, ready to go, which can be fished to different fish, since there is rarey time to swap flies before a feeding carp moves on.
The Heavyweight option in the Carp Torch will not sit on the water's surface, rather it will start sinking right away with a faster sink rate to get down to cruising and tailing fish without the unwanted splash of a bead or dumbbell for weight Cast dry, with a static presentation upon landing and it is ideal for fish feeding with their backs out of the water, eating in extremely shallow levels.
The Heavyweight option is only offered in the black and orange combination, with a red thread on the head so you know which ones in your fly box are heavier than the standard model. Just like the other Carp Torch options, this has proven itself especially in dirty water. It has accounted for quite a good number of carp at the time of writing this, although that number grows every week.
Tied on an Ahrex NS115 Deep Streamer Fly Hook, these are built tough to handle big fish, and has proven itself in the arena time and time again. They are heavier than the standard Carp Torch, tied on the FW580, with a thicker gauge wire in the hook.
All flies sold at Troutlore are tied by hand in Australia by Rob from Troutlore, or designated tyers for specific patterns who are noted in the descriptions. This fly pattern is tied on quality Ahrex hooks and using the best materials, this is a great addition to any fly box.
All flies in the "Troutlore Flies" range are tied to order, after completed payment. This usually requires a 5-7 day turnaround depending on the current tying queue. Your complete order will be shipped as one after all flies have been tied. We will contact you is further unforeseen delays arise with a fly order. Flies tied by other Australian fly tyers are kept in stock and up to date quantities are shown, for immediate dispatch.
