Description

These zonker rabbit strips from The Lost Fly offer exceptional length in the rabbit fur, there’s none of the short stuff here, ensuring your Zonkers, Barra Bunnies, Donnie Brascoes and similar flies all have plenty of movement in the water.

Cut into 1/8″ wide strips, with three strips per pack. An average of 3 feet per pack. Rabbit strips can be wound like a hackle, or tied inline  to form zonker and baitfish patterns.
The hair will lay back with each turn to create a very lifelike appearance. Rabbit hair has movement like marabou and is easy to tie with and makes a supremely mobile wing. The bold colours really pop, great for attracting larger, predatory trout, native and saltwater species.

Brent Bowerman is the proud owner of The Lost Fly, a flyfisherman and flytyer with passion. He creates custom flies and materials from the wealth of knowledge he has collected over the years working in the Tasmanian fly fishing industry. We are very fortunate at Troutlore to have had Brent offer his products to us, so that we can share them with the wider Australian fly tying community. These will soon begin to appear in the flies that we use ourselves on the rivers and streams of Victoria. If you’re all about #tieyourown then we have The Lost Fly products to help you create your own fish-fooling masterpieces.

Of course, if you want to create all sorts of natural looking streamer fly patterns, then our ever growing range of natural hairs and furs is the ideal place to start for something different to the synthetic option. Don’t just settle on looking in the Hare & Rabbit category when you’re chasing quality winging and body furs, check out the Specialty Species Category of the Troutlore Flytying Store as well. Plus, we keep a great selection of Cald and Bucktail as well, in a big range of colours to take care of your freshwater and saltwater flytying needs.
