Description

The Royal Wulff dry fly is a classic dry fly pattern that has been used by fly fishers for over 80 years. It was first created by Lee Wulff, a legendary fly fisherman and conservationist, in the 1930s. The fly was named after Lee’s friend and fishing companion, the Duke of Windsor, who became King Edward VIII of the United Kingdom in 1936.

The Royal Wulff dry fly is a highly visible fly that is often used in fast-moving water, such as streams and rivers. It is designed to imitate a variety of mayflies, caddisflies, and other insects that are commonly found in these types of environments. The fly features a bright red band of floss in the middle of its body, which helps to attract the attention of fish. It also has a white calf hair wing and tail, and a peacock herl body, which give it a distinctive appearance.

Offered here as Eugene ties them with a larger Calf Body wing so they really stand our on the water, its a fly that is ideally suited to Australian meadow streams and pocket water creeks all through the hotter months.
