The Ozzy Native Flies Cod Surface Pack has everything you need to open the gateway to targeting surface cod on the fly. Be warned, it is addictive and you will want to come back for more. But don’t worry, we have you covered with pre-tied flies as well as all the materials you need to tie your own.

To start you out flyfishing for cod, Ben from Ozzy Native Flies put this selection of 6 flies together to cover all you top water options. There is a mix of colours and designs ready to trigger that boof of a surface strike. So, when you’re targeting and searching for surface strikes when the light is fading, or early in the morning, you’ll have a fly to get the cod’s attention.

The Surface Pack also includes a practice fly, with an actual hook in there for realistic weight balance, just with it’s point folded in so you don’t clip yourself on the ear with a bad cast. The practice fly gives you the option to get some lawn casting in before you hit the water to improve you accuracy with a bulky fly that can be quite different to most other flies you’d usually cast. The weight of the hook, the mass of the foam head and the drag of the feather tail all come together to give you a realistic casting experience. Better accuracy on the cast means more time in the strike zone and ultimately more hook-ups.
