Description

Chuck’N’Duck Pine Squirrel Zonker Strips are the perfect alternative for rabbit, especially on your smaller fly tying patterns. These strips are great for smaller streamers, collars, tails and bodies due to their short dense fibers and 1/8 inch width.  That’s around 3mm in width at the hide, so they are very thin, but the dense fur still gives Pine Squirrel Zonker Strips plenty of body. Of course, this can be trimmed out to reduce bulk even further on really sparsely tied, smaller flies.

These extra thin strips of soft tanned pine squirrel fur are not only excellent for mini zonkers, but can be used in a wide range of trout and native flies, especially when you want a reduced profile on smaller sized hooks. Whether it’s predator flies, micro zonkers, matukas, or any number of smaller bass and bream flies for Australian waters, these are a great option.

Chuck’N’Duck are located just out of Belfast and have developed a quality range of fly tying materials that we are proud to offer here in Australia. Andy from Chuck’N’Duck says their mission is to provide top quality tying materials to put you that one step closer to catching that prized fish. He has a passion for dubbing, which is why a Troutlore and Chuck’N’Duck partnership was a no brainer. It takes a special kind of person to want to spend all day mixing hair, fur and synthetics in the chase for the next great blend. That’s why we are happy to offer a product created from the creative mind of Andy McClelland.  He doesn’t sell any materials that he wouldn’t use himself.

Of course, if you want to create all sorts of natural looking streamer fly patterns, then our ever growing range of natural hairs and furs is the ideal place to start. Don’t just settle on looking in the Hare & Rabbit category when you’re chasing quality winging and body furs, check out the Specialty Species Category of the Troutlore Flytying Store as well. Plus, we keep a great selection of Cald and Bucktail as well, in a big range of colours to take care of your freshwater and saltwater flytying needs.
