There's something about a mayfly cripple pattern that just inspires eats from fish. Perhaps it's the laziness of knowing that it's an easy meal, or just the opportunistic nature of trout that puts these high on the pecking order in a mayfly hatch.
The Hi Vis CDC Cripple is tied with lots of hackle, and plenty of Cul De Canard feathers, so it floats all day. It catches fish, that much we do know, and can be washed off and treated to keep on floating even after it's been slimed. his makes it a pretty neat little pattern that can be fished in the hatch, after the hatch, or throughout the day as a general searching fly too.

And of course, all the materials needed to tie this simple pattern are available from Troutlore!
