Description
The Lost Fly supplies select fly tying materials, lovingly prepared in Tasmania, for the Australian fly tying market. This includes the new Lost Fly Bugger Hackle Pack, available in a few select colours chosen for use in tying Woolly Buggers. Both myself and Brent from The Lost Fly have struggled to find a reliable supply of quality Woolly Bugger hackling feathers that are long enough in length, small enough in fibre and soft enough for movement. So, I am very pleased to be able to offer these packs which are made with the same stock of feathers Brent uses for all his commercially tied Woolly Bugger flies. Great length, size and stiffness is what you can expect in these feathers. With approximately 80 – 100 feathers per pack, that’s a lot of Woolly Buggers to fill you fly boxes with.
PLEASE NOTE : The Grizzly Olive and Black dyed packs appear to have less bulk in them. This is due to the hide shrinking during the hot dye process. The patches start out the same size as the plain Grizzly packs and contain the same quantity of feathers.
At Troutlore, we want you to have the best choice of the best feathers possible to create all sorts of flies. We stock packs, capes and saddles from The Lost Fly as well as Whiting and Keough. Whilst it can be a struggle to get popular colours at times, we do our best to source a continual range of feathers. If you can’t see the colour of cape you are after, please feel free to get in touch and we will do what we can to get you the feathers you need.
Of course, if you want to create all sorts of natural looking fly patterns, then our ever growing range of natural feathers is the ideal place to start. Aside from all the hackles, marabou, Coq De Leon and Cul De Canard that we have on offer, you can find some real gems the Other Feathers Category of the Troutlore Flytying Store. If you can’t find a product you are specifically looking for, get in touch and we will see if it can be sourced, and kept in stock. Plus, you can keep up to date with new releases through our newsletter and social media outlets.
