UNI French Oval Tinsel is a non-tarnishing fly tying metallic tinsel with an extra strong core. This superb tinsel is ideal for ribbing on nymph and streamer patterns. It also works as tags on salmon flies, or just adding flash to your favorite fly patterns. This tinsel has a slight bulge to the shape, so it differs from a flat Mylar. Further to that, it doesn’t quite have the weight of using wire. This means you can add shape and shine to your flies without throwing out the weight balance. It makes a great addition to any fly tying selection. And should live on the bench next to your Mylar tinsel and gold wire.

The beauty of this tinsel is how the coating holds it’s colour. UNI French Oval Tinsel is a very high quality metallic tinsel exclusive to UNI-Products. This tinsel is varnished so it will not tarnish. You will either lose the fly, or have it ripped apart by teeth before the UNI French Tinsel loses it’s shine. This gold oval tinsel is available in three sizes: large, medium and small.

Each spool contains approximately 12 yards of oval shaped tinsel..
