Description

These Hareline Glass Rattles can give you that extra edge when fishing big streamers in dirty water. Adding a glass rattle to a fly can produce incredible results. Big predators hunt by sound as well as sight and these rattles will help give your fly a sonic signature long before it comes within sight of any fish. The more action tat is imparted into the fly’s movement, the greater the noise created by the glass rattle. A sudden stop and start motion will drive the metal balls inside these rattles back and forth to give off a series of sound waves with each jerking movement. Just think of what this is likely to trigger in some of our bigger, predatory native species.

Fish are often attracted to the loud rattling sound that these give off and they can be the difference between a good or bad day on the water. You can place a glass rattle inside some mylar tubing and extend that off the hook shank. Alternatively, you can embed it in epoxy or UV resin, or tie it onto a long shank hook. For best results, it is suggested that you leave both ends of the rattle uncovered by thread or resin to increase the acoustic resonance. These high quality rattles are made of laboratory-grade Pyrex glass and are extremely durable. Great for freshwater and saltwater streamer patterns.
